การใช้ Ask(ถาม, สอบถาม)

1. Ask + about + คำนาม (Noun)

ใช้เพื่อ สอบถาม หรือขอข้อมูล

• I asked about his family.
  ฉันถามเกี่ยวกับครอบครัวของเขา
• She asked about the company's policies.
  เธอถามเกี่ยวกับนโยบายของบริษัท
• He asked about the price of the car.
  เขาถามเกี่ยวกับราคารถ

2. Ask + someone + something = ถามใครบางคน (มักใช้เล่าถึงสิ่งที่คนอื่นถาม/Indirect Speech)

Direct: "Can you answer my question?" she asked.

Indirect: She asked me a question.

เธอถามฉันคำถามหนึ่ง

Direct: "What time is it?" he asked.

Indirect: He asked me what time it was.

เขาถามฉันว่ามันกี่โมงแล้ว

Direct: "Where is the library?" he asked.

Indirect: He asked me where the library was.

เขาถามฉันว่าห้องสมุดอยู่ที่ไหน

Direct: "Where are you going?" he asked.

Indirect: He asked me where I was going.

เขาถามฉันว่าฉันจะไปไหน

3. Ask + Wh-word (ถามรายละเอียดขึ้นต้นด้วย What, Where, When, Who, Why, How)

• I asked what time it was.
  ฉันถามว่ามันกี่โมงแล้ว
• She asked what my name was.
  เธอถามว่าฉันชื่ออะไร

4. Ask if / Ask whether + clause = ถามว่าใช่หรือไม่ (เล่าถึงสิ่งที่คนอื่นถาม)

Direct: "Are you busy?" she asked.

Indirect: She asked if I was busy.

เธอถามว่าฉันยุ่งอยู่หรือเปล่า

Direct: "Are you tired?" she asked.

Indirect: She asked if I was tired.

เธอถามว่าฉันเหนื่อยไหม

Direct: "Do you like coffee?" he asked.

Indirect: He asked whether I liked coffee.

เขาถามว่าฉันชอบกาแฟหรือไม่

Direct: "Can you help me?" she asked.

Indirect: She asked if I could help her.

เธอถามว่าฉันช่วยเธอได้ไหม
