การใช้ Past Simple Tense (Active Voice)

Past Simple Tense ใช้สำหรับพูดถึงเหตุการณ์หรือการกระทำที่เกิดขึ้นและสิ้นสุดลงแล้วในอดีต มักมีช่วงเวลาที่แน่นอน

โครงสร้างพื้นฐาน

ประเภทประโยค	โครงสร้าง	ตัวอย่าง (V2)
ประโยคบอกเล่า	Subject + V2	She cooked dinner. (เธอทำอาหารเย็น)
ประโยคปฏิเสธ	Subject + did not (didn't) + V1	She did not cook dinner. (เธอไม่ได้ทำอาหารเย็น)
ประโยคคำถาม	Did + Subject + V1 ?	Did she cook dinner? (เธอทำอาหารเย็นใช่แล้วใช่ไหม?)

คำอธิบายเพิ่มเติม

• V2 (Verb 2): คือกริยาช่องที่ 2 ซึ่งมีทั้งแบบเติม -ed (regular verbs) และแบบเปลี่ยนรูป (irregular verbs)
• did not / didn't: เมื่อใช้ในประโยคปฏิเสธและคำถาม กริยาแท้จะกลับไปใช้ V1 (Verb 1) หรือรูปเดิม

โครงสร้างประโยคพื้นฐานคือ: ประธาน + กริยาช่อง 2 + กรรม

ประโยคตัวอย่าง

• I ate an apple yesterday. (ฉันกินแอปเปิลเมื่อวานนี้)
• She wrote a letter last week. (เธอเขียนจดหมายเมื่อสัปดาห์ที่แล้ว)
• They played football this morning. (พวกเขาเล่นฟุตบอลเมื่อเช้านี้)

คำกริยาจะเปลี่ยนรูปไปตามกฎ ดังนี้:

• กริยาปกติ (Regular verbs): เติม -ed ที่ท้ายคำ (เช่น walk -> walked, play -> played)
• กริยาอปกติ (Irregular verbs): มีรูปเฉพาะตัวที่ต้องจำ (เช่น eat -> ate, write -> wrote)

ประโยคปฏิเสธ (Negative sentences)

ใช้ "did not" หรือ "didn't" โดยคำกริยาจะกลับไปเป็นรูปเดิม (Base form)

• I didn't eat an apple yesterday. (ฉันไม่ได้กินแอปเปิลเมื่อวานนี้)
• She didn't write a letter last week. (เธอไม่ได้เขียนจดหมายเมื่อสัปดาห์ที่แล้ว)

ใช้ "Did" ขึ้นต้นประโยค และคำกริยาจะกลับไปเป็นรูปเดิม (Base form)

• Did you eat an apple yesterday? (คุณกินแอปเปิลเมื่อวานนี้หรือเปล่า?)
• Did she write a letter last week? (เธอเขียนจดหมายเมื่อสัปดาห์ที่แล้วหรือเปล่า?)

คำถามที่ขึ้นต้นด้วย "Did" ใช้ถามเกี่ยวกับเหตุการณ์ที่เกิดขึ้นและจบลงในอดีต

คำตอบแบบสั้น (Yes/No) - Yes, I did. / No, I didn't. - Yes, she did. / No, she didn't. - Yes, they did. / No, they didn't. - Yes, he did. / No, he didn't. - Yes, we did. / No, we didn't. - Yes, it did. / No, it didn't.(สัตว์, สิ่งของ,เหตุการณ์ เอกพจน์)

ข้อควรจำ:
ในคำตอบแบบเต็ม เมื่อใช้ Yes คำกริยาจะเปลี่ยนเป็นรูปอดีต (ช่อง 2)
แต่ถ้าใช้ No คำกริยาจะอยู่ในรูปเดิม (ช่อง 1) เพราะมี didn't อยู่แล้ว

ตอบสั้น : Yes, he did. / No, he didn't.
ตอบยาว: Yes, he broke the vase. He was trying to catch the ball, and he accidentally knocked it off the table.
ใช่ เขาทำแจกันแตก เขากำลังพยายามรับลูกบอล และทำมันตกจากโต๊ะโดยไม่ตั้งใจ

หรือตอบปฎิเสธ : No, he didn't break the vase. It was the cat that knocked it over.
ไม่ เขาไม่ได้ทำแจกันแตก เป็นแมวต่างหากที่ทำมันล้ม

ตอบปฎิเสธ : No, they didn't go to the cinema yesterday. (ไม่ พวกเขาไม่ได้ไปดูหนังเมื่อวานนี้)

ใช่ ฝนตกเกือบทุกวันเลยเมื่อสัปดาห์ที่แล้ว ถนนน้ำท่วมหมด และพวกเราก็ออกไปข้างนอกไม่ได้ตลอดสุดสัปดาห์

ตอบปฎิเสธ : No, it didn't rain much at all. The weather was dry and sunny every day. We were all hoping for some rain, but it never came.
ไม่ ฝนไม่ได้ตกเยอะเลยสักนิด อากาศแห้งและมีแดดออกทุกวัน พวกเราต่างหวังว่าฝนจะตกบ้าง แต่ก็ไม่เลย

ตอบสั้น : Yes, she did. / No, she didn't.

ตอบยาว : Yes: Yes, she closed the door and locked it behind her. She always makes sure the house is secure before she leaves.
ใช่ เธอปิดประตูและล็อกมันด้วย เธอแน่ใจเสมอว่าบ้านจะปลอดภัยก่อนออกไป

ตอบปฎิเสธ : No: No, she didn't close it. I found the door wide open when I got home, so I had to go back and lock it myself. I guess she was in a hurry.
ไม่ เธอไม่ได้ปิดประตู ฉันเจอประตูเปิดกว้างตอนกลับถึงบ้าน เลยต้องย้อนกลับไปล็อกเอง ฉันเดาว่าเธอคงรีบมาก
