💖 ความรู้เบื้องต้น
Wish เมื่อใช้ในความหมายว่าประมาณว่า "หวัง.../ ปราถนา .../อยากจะ.."
ซึ่งเป็นในลักษณะ ดังนี้
ความต้องการสูง แต่ความเป็นไปได้น้อยมาก หรือ ไม่อาจเป็นไปได้ เป็นแนวเพ้อฝัน
ส่วน hope จะมีความเป็นไปได้สูงกว่า

💓 โครงสร้างประโยคของ wish ที่พบบ่อย 💓

♥ 1. ต้องการให้คนอื่นมีความสุข โดยการอวยพร/ ให้พร
- Sub + wish + someone + something
- I wish you a happy birthday.
ขอให้คุณมีความสุขในวันเกิด

- I wish you the very best of luck.
ขอให้คุณโชคดีที่สุด

- We wish you a Merry Christmas.
ขอให้มีความสุขในวันคริสต์มาส

I wish all of you a very happy Valentine's Day!
สุขสันต์วันวาเลนไทน์นะครับทุกคน

- We wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
ขอให้มีความสุขกับวันคริสต์มาส และสวัสดีปีใหม่!

♥ 2. ปราถนา ต้องการที่จะ...( เหมือนกับ want to/ would like to)
(ให้ความรู้สึกมีความสุภาพมากกว่า want to/ would like to)
- Sub + wish + to + V1
- Do you wish to sit down, sir?
คุณอยากนั่งลงไหมครับ

- I’ll cancel the arrangement if you wish.
ฉันจะยกเลิกการเตรียมการ หากคุณต้องการ

- We wish to book some seats for the theatre.
เราต้องการจองที่นั่งสำหรับโรงละคร

- I don't wish to worry you but he did say he'd be back by midnight.

- They want you to write down the name of the student you wish to talk to.

ความหมาย : wish = ปราถนา../ ตั้งใจว่า.../ หวังว่าจะ../ + (ประโยคที่ตามมา)
- I wish I could type that fast.
ฉันปรารถนาว่าฉันจะพิมพ์ได้เร็ว

- I wish I could sing better.
ฉันปรารถนาที่จะร้องเพลงให้ดีขึ้นกว่านี้

- I wish I could own my own business.
ฉันปรารถนาจะได้เป็นเจ้าของธุรกิจของตัวเอง

- I wish I could settle the argument.
ฉันปรารถนาว่าฉันจะสามารถแสดงความคิดโต้แย้งได้

- l won't let you. l wish we had more time.

I wish it would stop raining.
ฉันหวังว่าฝนจะหยุดตก (ตอนนี้ไม่มีท่าทีว่าจะหยุด)

- I wish you wouldn’t do that.
ฉันหวังว่าคุณจะไม่ทำอย่างนั้น (ตอนนี้คงไม่ฟังฉัน)

- She wished that Ben would come home.
เธออยากให้เบนกลับบ้าน (ตอนนี้ไม่มีท่าทีว่าจะกลับ)

♥5. ปราถนา/ ต้องการสิ่งที่ตรงข้ามกับความจริงในอดีต
- Sub + wish + Sub + had + V3
- Sub + wish + Sub + could/would + V3
- I wish I had paid more attention in class.
ฉันหวังว่าฉันจะตั้งใจเรียนให้มากขึ้น

- She wished she hadn’t said that she was bored.
เธอหวังว่า เธอไม่พูดว่าเธอเบื่อ (แต่พูดไปแล้ว)

- I wish I hadn't eaten so much.
ฉันหวังว่าฉันจะไม่กินมาก (แต่ก็กินซะพุงกางเลย)

- I wish I could have seen his face!
ฉันหวังว่าฉันจะได้เห็นหน้าของเขา! (แต่เขาไม่มาให้เห็น)

- I wish I hadn’t spent so much money last month.
