♥ Dare เป็นหนึ่งใน 24 ตัวของ กริยาช่วย (Auxiliary verb) และยังเป็น "Semi-modal verbs" อีกด้วย

Dare เป็นทั้งกริยาช่วยและ กริยาแท้ (เรียกว่า "Semi-modal verbs").
Dare = กล้า, กล้าดีอย่างไร..., โอหังบังอาจ, ท้าทาย
สามารถใช้ได้ทั้งแบบ กริยาช่วย และกริยาแท้
Dare นิยมใช้แบบกริยาแท้มากกว่่าการใช้แบบ "modal verbs"

dare = ใช้แบบกริยาช่วย ในประโยคปฏืเสธ

I dare not face my dad.
ผมไม่กล้าเผชิญหน้ากับพ่อของผมเลย
(เมื่อทำเป็นประโยคปฏิเสธ ใช้ not วางด้านลัง)

dare = ใช้แบบกริยาแท้ ในประโยคปฏิเสธ

- Don't you dare be late. Understood?
ห้ามมาสายเชียวนะ เข้าใจมั๊ย
(เมื่อทำเป็นประโยคปฏิเสธ ใช้กริยาพิเศษ (Helping verb / Auxiliary verb) เข้ามาช่วย
ซึ่งใช้ "Verb to do" เข้ามาช่วย ซึ่งก็จะเหมือนกับหลักการของกริยาแท้โดยทั่วไปนั่นเอง)

นายไม่กล้าหรอก

- I won't dare, it won"t happen again!
ไม่ ฉันจะไม่(กล้า)ทำอีก มันจะไม่เกิดขึ้นอีกแล้ว

dare = ท้าทาย

ผู้ท้า + dare + ผู้ถูกท้ายทาย + to + V1

ใช้เป็นสำนวนห้ามปราม - Don't you dare laugh at me.
อย่ามาบังอาจหัวเราะเยาะฉัน
